Country Music Star Aaron Tippin Becomes National Spokesperson for PVAs Disabled Outdoor Sports Program

August 6, 2003, Memphis, TNThe Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) has announced that country music star Aaron Tippin will become the first national spokesperson for its Outdoor Sports Program. The announcement was made earlier today by PVA National President Joseph L. Fox, Sr. and Aaron Tippin before the delegates at the PVA 57th Annual Convention, being held at the Memphis Convention Center.

Addressing those in attendance at the PVA Annual Convention, Tippin declared, I'm proud to be representing the great men and women who have served our country. The outdoors is a huge part of my life, and I am glad to be a part of an organization that will encourage disabled men and women to participate in outdoor sports.

As part of his responsibilities as National Spokesperson, Tippin plans to record public service announcements, participate in outdoor sporting events with paralyzed veterans and other Americans with disabilities and assist with fundraising for the Programs initiatives.

The PVA Outdoor Sports Program includes such activities as fishing, boating, recreational shooting and hunting. The goals of the Program are to introduce traditional outdoor sports and promote a lifetime of health and fitness for Americas disabled veterans and all individuals with physical disabilities. The PVA Outdoor Sports Program is supported through the PVA Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund, a permanent endowment founded in 2002.

PVA is very excited to have Aaron Tippin on our team as spokesperson for the PVA Outdoor Sports Program, stated PVA National President Joseph L. Fox, Sr. earlier today to the delegates at the PVA Annual Convention. With Aarons help, PVA will be able to raise awareness for our program, which will increase outdoor sports opportunities for all disabled Americans and will subsequently increase their quality of life.
